Jersey Shore Snookie gets hit in the face. Television personality Nicole Snooki Polizzi was punched in the face during one of the show’s tapings at a New Jersey drinking establishment from clips shown on MTV. This clip has been shown repeatedly to advertise the reality show, even though viewers spoke up, saying the small screen bite is a bit too graphic as an incentive to watch the series. However, MTV put a halt on that clip. Within the first five minutes of the show’s premiere episode, a 28-year-old male who goes by the name “Mike ‘The Situation’” because of his chiseled abdominal muscles — “My abs are so ripped up we call it ‘the situation,’” he says — tells the camera that the Jersey Shore is where “you have to be” because it’s the place “where the shirts come off and the bikinis come out.”
